JONESBORO, GA — Clayton County police are asking for the public’s help finding 16-year-old Emira Spinks after she was reported missing on Nov. 1. Investigators said she was last seen leaving her home in the 7200 block of Raintree Loop in Jonesboro around 2:30 p.m. in an Uber.
Police said they do not know which direction she traveled or what vehicle was involved beyond that ride-share detail. Authorities also released a description of the teen and said they want anyone with information to contact police immediately.
According to Clayton County police, Spinks was seen departing her home in the afternoon on Nov. 1. The ride was believed to be an Uber, but investigators have not said where she was headed or whether she reached that destination.
The lack of a confirmed travel direction has made the search more difficult. At this stage, authorities are relying on public tips to help fill in the gaps about her movements after she left the Jonesboro address.
Police have not released any additional details about why she may have left home or who she may have been with, if anyone. They are treating the case as a missing-person search and are asking the community to stay alert.
Investigators issued a Mattie’s Call, Georgia’s statewide alert for missing people who are elderly or have a disability. The alert is often used to widen awareness quickly when police believe more eyes and more tips could help locate someone.
By activating the statewide system, Clayton County police are hoping to reach people beyond the immediate area around Jonesboro. The alert puts the case in front of a broader audience in case someone saw the teen, the ride-share vehicle, or anything else that could help with the search.
Police did not say what led them to use that specific alert in this case. They have, however, made clear that they want the public to share any information that may help track her down.
Police described Spinks as Black, 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 180 pounds. They said she has black hair and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing a red shirt and black pants. That clothing description may help the public identify her if she is seen in the community, and investigators are asking people to pay close attention to anyone matching it.
Authorities have not said whether she had any personal belongings with her or whether there were any signs of trouble at the home before she disappeared. For now, the description remains one of the main tools police have provided to the public.
Anyone with information about Spinks’ whereabouts is asked to call Clayton County police at 770-477-3747 or dial 911. The case number is 26074382.
Police said even small details could matter, especially if someone saw a teen matching her description or noticed an Uber trip in the Jonesboro area around the time she was last seen. Investigators want the public to report anything that seems relevant rather than wait for confirmation.
Missing-person searches can turn on a single credible sighting, so officers are urging residents, drivers and anyone in the surrounding area to come forward if they know anything at all.
Cases involving missing teenagers often move quickly because time can narrow the window for useful sightings and leads. In this case, police have already provided a specific location, time and clothing description, which gives the public a clearer picture of what to look for.
For families and neighbors in Clayton County, the alert is a reminder that local tips can make a difference in a search that starts at home and extends across the state. Officers are continuing to piece together where Spinks went after leaving Raintree Loop.
At this point, police have not announced any new developments in the case. The search remains focused on finding Emira Spinks and gathering information from anyone who may have seen her.
