Officer Ossello keeps the school safe. Officer Ossello makes sure the doors are locked, and he walks around the school to keep it safe. Officer Ossello told us what he feels is most important about his job. “It’s two parts. The first and most obvious is the safety of the students here, but that is a big picture on a day-to-day basis. The most important part of our job is getting to talk to you guys—the students and the teachers—making connections, being approachable, and having you guys somewhere that you can go and look and talk to me, and that’s what we truly do day in and day out on a daily level. Officer Ossello goes beyond just keeping the students safe. Officer Ossello had other experience than being a resource officer.
Officer Ossello has law enforcement experience before becoming a school resource Officer. He started his career in 2002. Officer Ossello said, “I worked part-time at the police department as a Cadet at the Bowling Green Police Department.” So, he has been in law enforcement for a long time.
Officer Ossello has many challenges in his job. The biggest challenge he faces is not knowing what he is going to get into every day. Officer Ossello said, “There’s no set schedule; there’s no known issues, so we have to be able to deal with things on our feet very quickly.” Another difficult part of his job is having to spend so much time away from his family. Even though he has obstacles, Officer Ossello loves his job.
Officer Ossello is a fantastic resource officer for our school. He faces many challenges as his job is to keep the school safe. Officer Ossello is here to help everyone in the school.
