Basketball Glory: We Are District Champions!

BGJHS wins District Tournament

7th-grade basketball player Ace talks to us about the win he and his team had. He said, “It was good because we won, and it was fun.” He never thought they would lose, but he knew it would be close the whole game. The first game was against Moss Middle School, a blowout. Everyone at the game got to play. The information we got from The Champion was exciting and fun.

The BGJHS basketball team has diligently prepared for their district game. Through dedicated practices and teamwork, they have shown significant improvement and are poised to compete at the state level. When talking to 7th grader Jalen Jessup about the win in the district tournament, he said, “It was nervous because, I mean, I knew if I knew if we would have let up, we probably would have lost.” This is a major win for the BGJHS school; now they can make it to championships after their hard work and dedication. And working hard together as a team, they proved to do amazing things.

The BGJHS boys basketball team is one of the best middle school teams in BG. They have been practicing for months and working hard towards all the games that they played. Coming onto the district game, we know that people were motivated and were working hard. But we specifically talked to 7th grader Silas Shirley, who said, “It was a good environment, and he felt excited to shoot the ball. Also happy and cheerful.” The Purples, after coming off wins after wins, ended up in the district tournament. They played Drakes Creek. After that win, they will secure their legacy and greatness again. Also, after they played their hearts out, they came up just a little short in the state championship.

The BGJHS boys basketball team has been hard getting to the tournament and has been practicing hard for the last 4 weeks for this tournament. The boy’s basketball team practiced in the gym for 1.5 hours at school to prepare for their next game. 7th grader Kip Walden said, “I liked the district tournament because we won and we kind of blew out every team. I had six points in the district tournament, and my favorite thing about the tournament was there were like 10 seconds in the game, and we just held the ball.” They played Drakes Creek and won and brought the win home; they played hard and won by a couple of points.
