From preppy to alternative and even sporty, these trending BGJHS styles reflect vibrant personalities, making fashion a key way for students to express themselves this year! Middle school students across the globe are making amazing style choices—a mix of comfy, sporty, and even preppy—to express themselves. To go deeper, we talked to students about what’s popular and why these trends are taking off in 2024.

There are many styles across the globe! Clothing styles can help people express themselves. 7th Grader Georgia Martinez said, “I think my style is kind of basic and sporty.” She expresses herself by wearing athletic gear. This helps her express herself by showing off her passion for sports. 

But let’s not forget the other various styles of the world! 7th grader Alex Wilson said, “I would say my style is more on the preppy side.” Preppy is an amazing style with a mix of clean, classy, and a little sporty. In this style you can wear polo’s, leggings, Lululemon, etc. Alex explains he puts himself in the preppy category because he wears Onclouds, polo’s, and some bright colored shorts.

Others specify themselves with a more clean look. 7th grader Victoria Gullien said, “I’d say Clean Girl.” The style of clean girl is a very put-together look, such as gold jewelry, slick-back buns, and cute outfits. Victoria also said, “It’s a cute aesthetic, and I like it.” She thinks the most popular style currently in BGJHS is preppy; she said, “Because everywhere I turn, I see a preppy.” Many people around the school community express themselves with their style. From preppy to just hopped out of bed, the possibilities are endless!

People express themselves in many ways; however, many people express themselves by their fashion choices. Here at BGJHS, many people identify as preppy, clean girl, sporty, and alternative. The fashion choices go on and on. Some people here at BGJHS make their styles to express their wonderful personalities! So… what’s your style?
