“A man paints with his brain and not with his hands”—Michelangelo. The black male scholars will be going to the National African American Music Museum. Viewing many pieces of music and learning about their history. There are many reasons that the Nation African Music Museum museum was picked as a field trip for black male scholars, like “learning about the history of music and the influence that African Americans have had on music not just in our country. but throughout the world,” stated Ms. Flemister.
There will be many things that the Black Male Scholars will see at the National Museum for African Americans like. “Seeing where their favorite music genres come from. Many times students believe their generation was the creator of something when in fact it was not. The genre, song, and/or lyric is an adaptation or remix of earlier work. It always blows their minds.” Stated Flemister.
“The greater danger for most of us lies in not setting our aim too high and falling short, but in setting our aim too low and achieving your mark.” -Michelangelo.
