What Thanksgiving traditions do you do? There are many traditions you can celebrate if you don’t have one. For example, flipping through old photos, watching the Macy’s Day parade, watching the NFL, or even going Black Friday shopping around town! Today, we will dive into the traditions that some of the students at BGJHS celebrate.
This Thanksgiving season, 7th grader Finley Yokley and 6th grader Callie Duvall at BGJHS have warm Thanksgiving traditions that they celebrate during the season with family.
Traditions can be fun and exciting when it comes to Thanksgiving! Families can go out of town, to other houses, or simply just gather with family on Thanksgiving. 6th grader Callie Duvall said she loves going to her grandparents’s farm because she doesn’t see her other family members often! Callie goes to the farm with her close family and relatives, and she enjoys her grandma’s cooking! This shows that going to different places for holidays can be joyful, and you can make those warm moments as well!
Usually, kids go to their grandparent’s house to celebrate Thanksgiving. But the question is, why do they? 7th grader Finley Yokley believes that her grandma’s rolls are AMAZING! She stated, “I do not help make the food, but the rolls are my favorite.” Grandmas make the best food, in our opinion, and it’s so much fun to see your family and celebrate with them! This shows that grandparents are the best cooks ever!!
Seeing relatives and family members you haven’t seen in a while can be emotional. You can have so many memorable moments and have lots of fun, especially around the holiday of Thanksgiving! At Thanksgiving, you celebrate being thankful and blessed for everything you have. 7th grader Leia Hudson said, “Probably whenever all my cousins come over to my house, ’cause I like when I get to see all of them and I don’t see them often.”
Overall, you should cherish those moments with your family and friends and be grateful for everything you have. You can do many things like these girls in the article did—celebrate with family on a farm, go to your grandparents’ house and eat good food, and celebrate with family you haven’t seen in a while! Or you could go Black Friday shopping like 7th grader Macy Leathers does with her mom, dad, and little sister Marley! Inconclusive… BE THANKFUL, GRATEFUL, AND BLESSED ON THANKSGIVING!
