The organization is a helpful way to stay on top of things. Students and Teachers at BGJHS stay organized to ensure they’re prepared for everything!
Students at BGJHS don’t enjoy staying organized as much. But adults here and across America seem to differ; according to a survey conducted by JoyBird, “85% of all people consciously organize their home at least every month. That’s a rate similar to how many people took time during the COVID-19 pandemic to organize, declutter, or re-decorate their homes, which 81% of people claimed to have done in 2020.”
Staying organized is beneficial in a variety of ways. One of the best examples is Journalism teacher Mrs.Cook, who mentioned, “You know, so when it comes to organization, I think some people use the phrase there’s a method to my madness. I have always, since I was little, thrived off being organized and knowing where things were. Because if I did not know where something was, I was probably crying, screaming, and yelling.”
However, some students live for organizations like 7th grade Levi Moseley, who remarks, “I’m very forgetful. So if I’m not organized, I leave everything everywhere. But one thing I would say about being organized is you need to make sure every time you put everything back in its place. Make sure you have a place for everything.”
There are many ways to stay organized in real life and the digital world. Mrs. Cook shares some of her ways of staying organized, “My big thing right now is color coding and labeling. So I’ve had a label maker for years and I label like all the drawers and boxes and everything for items in my classroom. But like, even my lesson plans are all color-coded. So my new show is in a certain color; my online news plans are in a certain color, just to help me know what I need to look for when I’m working on something.”
