The basketball teams here at Bowling Green Joiner High School always have an amazing winning team each year! The girl’s basketball here at BGJHS just had their first game! There were many different feelings across the court. Some were nervous, some were excited, and some didn’t have many feelings. The basketball game at BGJHS was an amazing win on Monday, November 4th, 2024.
The amazing athletes of the girl’s basketball team here at BGJHS just had their first game on November 4th, 2024. This game was an amazing win for the lady purples, and they hope to keep going on with this winning streak
The quote that stood out to us was from 7th grader Trinity Jones, “It’s the amazing feeling of joy at the end of the game when you know that all your hard work from the practices paid off.” This stood out to us because this can apply to any sport or hobby. After all, the theme of this quote is your hard work towards the sport or hobby.
Before the game, most of the team was feeling different feelings. Most girls were feeling nervous. 8th grader Lola Kate Kington says, “I’m feeling a little bit nervous because I’m afraid we are going to mess up and just give up on the rest of the game.”
Some worries the team had before the game was working together; many of the girls we interviewed had concerns about the teamwork they could potentially lack during the game. 7th grader Georgia Martinez said, “Talking on defense could be a serious struggle we could have as far as working together during the game because we aren’t very good at talking and such on defense.”
As the Bowling Green Lady Purple basketball is getting closer to the upcoming game, the practices are getting more stressful because the coach is putting more pressure on them to do everything right. 7th grade Trinity Jones says, “As we get closer to the upcoming game, the practices are getting more stressful because the coach makes us do layups, and if we miss or mess up, we have to run.”
During the game, most of the girls felt they worked well together and had good passes. Georgia Martinez says, “We work well together, especially on passes and steals and talking on defense.” This shows just how amazing this basketball team can prove their predictions wrong.
The energy during this game started very boring and quiet, but as they started the game and started talking and cheering, we started bringing the energy. Lola Kate Kington says, “The energy in this game was just different than other games; like last season, the energy started not good but started to rise as the game went on.”
As the bowling green purples won the game, they all thought the work paid off when they found amazing joy after this amazing first win of the season. Trinity Jones says. “It’s the amazing feeling of joy at the end of the game when you know that all your hard work from the practices paid off.”
The girl’s basketball team is going to have an amazing season as always, and it all starts with the first games and practices. This amazing team will do all they can to get better and all they can to make it as far as they can this year.
