There have been many Halloween costume trends throughout the years. Only one type of costume has stayed in style. Ella Street Schardein, a 7th grader at BGJHS, thinks that horror costumes will never go out of style because “so many people want to be scared for Halloween, and it’s just a traditional costume.” That is why most people dress up as horror figures like famous murderers, clowns, or anything like that. We took a poll and 26% of people chose horror figures as their favorite costume out of 10 options. This is a large number compared to the 12% who chose sports figures, which was the second highest option.

It is always great to follow the trend but it is always better to be unique. Schardein says, “I hope to see many different unique costumes because every year there’s always the traditional Halloween costume like a spider or a ghost, but other times I feel like people with out-of-the-box costumes are better.” If you need ideas, you could always dress up as a horror figure, but you could dress up as something nobody has done before to put a unique spin on it.
