There are an estimated 234 million Esports enthusiasts.
The BGJHS Esports team played their first match on September 26th versus the Rocket League Raiders to improve their chance of qualifying for state.
The Esports first match went well. “ I feel like we had nerves at first but once we got our nerves under control, then locked in. I wasn’t nervous because when it comes to playing Rocket League, I am the best player, and I practice extra, so I’m not nervous, and I’m confident in my abilities to play Rocket League,” explained 8th grader Bejazid Muskic”.
The Esports team can be competitive just like physical sports.”I joined the Esports team because it gives me something competitive other than homework, and I enjoy playing Rocket League because I’m not the most athletic person, so I found something that fits me. At first, I wasn’t going to join because I thought I wasn’t good, but after the first match, I found out that I wasn’t that bad after all,” stated 7th grader Knox Turner.
If you enjoy playing video games, I recommend joining the Esports team because it is still competitive and participating in their tournaments.
