“Don’t practice until you get it right; practice until you can’t get it wrong.” -Cat Osterman. This is how the softball team succeeds daily by practicing diligently.
The BGJHS softball team is on the road to success. They work hard for a win and have victorious practices and games.
There are many reasons why players on the softball team work hard in the sport. Eighth-grader Kaitlyn Yarbrough explained, “If you do the small things, the bigger things will come later.” The girls of the BGJHS softball team practice four days a week to work hard and show it on game days.
Even though the sport is fun for these girls, sometimes they have worries when they get out on the field. Players might be perturbed by striking out, letting their teammates down, or even getting injured. 8th grader Lola Kate Kingston said, “I pray and I think about what would happen in the game before it happens so I am mentally ready to play before each play.”
Through playing softball intellectually as well as physically, we looked into why the girls chose this competitive sport. 8th grader Bailey Shoemake explained, “When I first played, I could not stop because it was my passion and I liked the sport.”
