Did you know that 33.3 percent of students outright said that they never attended dances, while only about 21 percent did attend often and 45.7 percent attended sometimes? The 2024 school dance came on September 15 from 7-9 PM. It took place in the gymnasium like the years before.

The BGJHS cheer team hosted the school dance this year in the gym.  This year’s school dance had an array of food and snacks that ranged from “shaved ice, chips, Reese’s, and other types of candies and snacks,” 7th-grade student Harrison Allen stated.

During the school dance, there were a few types of music that were played and liked by the students. One main genre of music that was played was ”rap music.” Allen stated, “At the dance, there was just mainly rap music; there were a lot of songs that were liked.”

At the school dance, there were many purple and gold decorations. Allen stated, “They were pretty good; they created a nice vibe around the place.”

Whether you are the 33.3 percent of people who never go to the school dance, people take the time to host the school dance, so at least acknowledge the challenges they face to host a fun time with friends.
