National Candy Day

Do you like candy? Well, on November 4th, it’s National Candy Day, so you can eat as many sugary treats as you like. Let’s take a look at what students at BGJHS think about candy.
National Candy Day

Candy is so sweet and yummy; it makes you feel good, and it also tastes amazing. Candy is a superpower, and everyone deserves a piece of the sweet, flavorful, and sugary treat that makes them cheerful and happy. Candy is an awesome invention, and since it’s been around for so long, I’m pretty sure that everyone has had a little piece of tasty candy. No matter what candy fits you, from candy canes to jelly beans, you can eat it all without anyone giving care because candy is something magical that no one can take from you unless you’ve eaten too much. Then someone should probably take it from you. Since candy is good, I had to ask Acelyn Omby Wright one more question. That question was: Why do you think there’s a National Candy Day? She responded with “to give candy out,” meaning everyone should have at least one piece of candy.

National Candy Day is a lovely day when people eat lots of tasty and yummy candies. Candy has lots of history, and it goes back a while. With these sweet pieces of sugar, the candy that you eat could be sweet, sour, or even spicy. There are so many different shapes and sizes of candy; you could have a tiny little worm-shaped gummy or you could have a big chocolate bar. Candy goes back so far that even cavemen found a way to treat their sweet tooth; they would eat honey as a little treat. Since I know people love candy, I asked Acylen Omby Wright why she loves candy, and she responded, “They’re tasty.” People eat candy because they love it; the sugary treats are just too tasty.

These tasty treats have a huge history, so let’s dig into the history of America’s candy. The first actual candy brand was called Good & Plenty. They first started making a candy called Bit-O-Honey, which is a small piece of sweet taffy made with honey and tiny pieces of almond. It’s very tasty. Another candy made by Good & Plenty is these little pieces of sweet licorice coated with pink and white shells. Another candy that was made was called PayDay, which was of course made by The Hershey Company. This little candy bar was covered in salted peanuts, and the inside was just a nougat-like sweet caramel. Since candy has lots of history, I asked Muhammad Umarov what the first time he had candy was, and he responded, “When I was like 5 years old.” This proves that candy has been around for a long time and is everywhere in the world. It also proves it’s in various cultures. Candy is an amazing thing and is tasty.

Candy is such a tasteful treat; it’s sweet and makes you complete. Candy, a delicious gift, smells good with one sniff, is a tiny bonus, and makes me go bogus. Candy, a savory donation, a talented creation, a galant piece—let us feast on candy.
