Mrs. Keown
Mrs. Keown is a 7th and 8th grade English teacher at the junior high. She’s been teaching for 19 years and started teaching because she loves English. She started teaching in 2005, and her favorite thing is meeting new students and seeing people excited to learn. 7th grader Braylon Lyons says, “I like Mrs. Keown because she helps with our homework, she doesn’t rush us, and she’s a chill teacher.” 7th grader Jaquavion Lewis says, “She’s chill because she lets us have free seating sometimes and lets us have our phones out.” Overall, Mrs. Keown is a great teacher who loves helping kids and seeing students excited to learn.

Did you know that this is Mr. Keown’s first year teaching at BGJHS? Mr. Keown has had a good experience at BGJHS so far. The staff encourages Mr. Keown to be a better teacher and inspires him. 8th grader Maggie Houghtaling stated, “I like Mr. Keown; he is a good teacher, and when I walk into his class, I feel ready to learn.” Mr. Keown is a good, hardworking teacher who is very appreciated by his students. BGJHS is lucky to have Mr. Keown and hopes to keep him for many years to come.

Relationship
Imagine two teachers who are married and work at the same school. Mr. Keown and Mrs. Keown have been together for 21 years and are married. They got married in 2006, and they had their first child in 2010, their second in 2013, and their youngest in 2016. 7th grader Braylon Lyons says, “I love how Mr. and Mrs. Keown share a relationship; it’s very unique.” Every year, Mr. and Mrs. Keown go to Disney World twice with their kids. March 25 was their anniversary. They watched Dune at the movie theater and ate Panda Express for lunch for their anniversary.

In conclusion, Mr. and Mrs. Keown are both good teachers who want the best for their students. They enjoy getting to work with each other and spending time together at work. They hope to continue to work together for many years to come.
