Do you think the WNBA is falling off or rising in popularity?
The WNBA plays basketball in several different places worldwide during the season, and we’re trying to figure out if the WNBA is falling off or rising in popularity.
The WNBA has many viewers, especially since it is fighting with so many other popular sports. We know so many people that increase just like Caitlin Clark and Candace Parker. We can see the average viewership at one of its peaks from espnpressroom.com: “The full season (regular season, playoffs, and finals) averaged 1.2 million viewers.” This statistic shows how people truly love to see the WNBA.
The WNBA has many diverse players with different stats and playing styles. According to stats.WNBA.com, the WNBA averages an impressive 14 points per game. 6th grader Bryson Barten said, “ They can do everything except dunk.” While the WNBA averages only 14 points per game, it is mostly due to their inability to dunk.
The WNBA is debated on whether it is worth watching or not. The WNBA may not be fun to watch because they might not be able to dunk like the NBA, and also, there is less action in the WNBA. As a 6th grader, Bryson Barten states, ” They’re pretty good but worse than the NBA.” The WNBA is not fun to watch because it does not do as much as the NBA does, so the WNBA might fall to its last resort when compared to the NBA.
