BGJHS boys basketball team triumphs at district

The BGJHS boys basketball team wins 7th-grade district.

As the leaves turn and the air gets cooler, the courts heat up—basketball season is here, and it’s time to witness the magic unfold!”On January 21st-23, the BGJHS basketball team won the district over everyone at South Warren Middle School

The basketball team has been practicing since November to prepare for districts. The practices are very intense. They practice for 2 hours every day. They went through a lot of plays to make sure that they knew their plays very well. They watch the film to learn from their mistakes. 8th-grade basketball player Anthony Davis talks about his experience with the basketball team and how he contributed to the team winning the games. “Been good; I get to form a brotherhood with my teammates and compete for district and state. We won; we’re like 20 and like 3, and I could contribute by scoring, doing everything I’m supposed to do, and yeah.

The basketball team refines plays and skills in practice for finals. The practice for finals is very challenging and takes a lot of heart and effort. The first thing that they did for the practice was refine their skills and play. The next thing that they did was work on their teamwork and efficiently with each other. Also, they practiced their bodies by running, sprinting, doing pushups, and other body workouts. The final thing is the confidence the team builds up each other’s confidence and hypes all of them up for a great end to the season.

The effort it takes to be good is practicing hard and putting 100% effort into everything we do and the stuff we practice at practice. We did execute in the game to be a great team. Also, our starters have to keep everyone accountable to make sure we minimize our mistakes. We have to make sure at practice we stay conditioned so when we play in the game we will not be tired 8th-grade basketball player  Izek Reed tells us about his basketball experience and how he contributed to their wins and describes how it is in a big game. “My basketball experience has been so far so good. We’ve won 23 basketball games and I’ve contributed by trying to do my role and playing defense.”

The district tournament and regular season are going well. People are ready to work hard to play BG. If they beat BG, that would be great! I asked Casen’s power forward about his basketball experiences at Bowling Green Junior High. “It’s been fun! We won districts and made it to the final four.” I also asked how many games BG Basketball has won and how he has helped the team. We won a little bit over 100 games in all three years, but this year with 23 and two, and yeah. Do you want to add anything else? Is 8th grade better than the 7th grade team?

The BGJHS basketball team goes through a tough season, but in the end, they triumph in the finals.
