There are many Christmas movies out there, but what is truly the best one? Students at BGJHS tell us what their favorite Christmas movie is and why they think it’s the best.
Almost half of the students consider Home Alone their favorite Christmas movie. Home Alone is a Christmas classic 1990 film. Kevin McCallister is a young boy who defends his Chicago home from an invasion by a pair of robbers. This happens after his family leaves him behind on their Christmas vacation to Paris. It’s very suspenseful and funny, making it enjoyable. 7th grader Kara Soules tells us, “Home Alone is my favorite Christmas movie because it’s really funny and there’s a lot more to watch than normal movies.” 7th grader Sadie Fox also enjoyed it. She tells us, “It’s a good movie for Christmas time; it’s also very funny.” Home Alone is the most enjoyable Christmas movie in our school.
Although Home Alone is the most popular Christmas movie at BGJHS, there are also many other popular Christmas movies. Other films are loved because they are also great. 8th grader Destiny Brown tells us, “My favorite Christmas movie is The Grinch because at the beginning he doesn’t feel or care for anyone, but then at the end, his heart grows and he cares for others.” Another student, 7th grader Ella Street Schardein, tells us, “Elf is my favorite Christmas movie because Buddy is funny and does funny things. It’s really entertaining.”
Many great memories can come with watching Christmas movies. Christmas is a time when families bundle together with a fire, a blanket, some hot cocoa, and watch a movie. Many memories are made. Soules tells us, “I just love to watch Christmas movies with my family in the living room with popcorn and apple pie.” We also hear from Schardein, who says, “I always just remember how one year we would all gather around my grandma’s living room area and watch fun Christmas movies during the holidays.”
