Many students here at BGJHS celebrate this amazing day. 7th grader Casey Reeder said, “We celebrate my family members that are dead.” How do people celebrate the Day of the Dead? Reeder also said, “The way we do it is there’s a room with pictures of those who died and we set out food for them. There’s also lights and decorations.”    

Why do we celebrate the Day of the Dead? We celebrate the Day of the Dead to maintain a strong relationship with the dead. 7th grader Georgia Martinez said, “I get to celebrate my dead ancestors,” which can be very important for people.

The Day of the Dead is important to maintain contact and relationships with the dead and bring their souls back to earth.

The Day of the Dead is important for many people. Getting to celebrate your ancestors is something many people would like to do. So next time someone tells you they celebrate the Day of the Dead, you should ask them about it.
