Have you ever heard of the rivalry between Ronaldo and Messi? This feud has been going on for years, and many people have different opinions about it, but at our school, who do people think is truly the best?
The debate between Ronaldo and Messi started in early 2010. The Messi and Ronaldo debate is still going crazy because both of them are recognized as the goats of soccer.
People across the world have their own opinions, like William Elmore, an 8th grader who goes to BGJHS. “I like Messi more because he was too short to play, and even the doctors told him that he would be too short to play soccer, but that didn’t make him quit,” Will says that because of this, he is a huge inspiration to me. These could be some reasons why people prefer Messi over Ronaldo.
We also wanted to know why they didn’t like Messi or Ronaldo. I prefer Ronaldo, but I also like Messi. We wanted to know what others think, so we asked 8th grader Will Swiatek, and he said, “I like Messi because he won the World Cup. I never liked Ronaldo because he’s a crybaby.” Will was referring to Ronaldo crying during the World Cup because Ronaldo missed a penalty, which was his only chance to win a World Cup.
People will state that Messi is better since he has a World Cup. We should know a World Cup is nothing without a good team. For example, some people will also say Ronaldo is better because he has more goals. We all know that a good player can’t do much without a good team. For example, Messi and his two teammates, Saurez and Neymar, have amazing chemistry, to the point they are an iconic trio.
People will always have their side, like how Will chooses Messi over Ronaldo. Everyone has their opinions. Yet, as we know, people have different goats, such as Pele, Maradona, and much more, so this debate may not go towards everyone. Messi and Ronaldo will always be the most famous debate among the goats of soccer.
