The WKU Big Brothers is a group of 3 or more male college students who talk with Black Male Scholars about life.
The WKU big brothers have inspired the BGJHS Black Male Scholars in a lot of ways. 7th grader Camdyn Bibb said, “The WKU Big Brothers inspire my everyday life because they motivate me to go to college and do better things and school.”
The Black Male Scholars do enjoy a lot of things about the WKU big brothers. Kaydon Banks said, “I enjoy going to WKU and doing activities with them, such as touring the college WKU and playing sports. Touring the college and playing sports is my favorite thing to do with the WKU big brothers because all the BMS in all grades were having fun together.”
The WKU Big Brothers have done many fun activities with BGJHS Black Male Scholars. 7th grader Kingston Bonds said, “The most fun activity that I did with them was we played Mafia. King Bonds said, “The game Mafia was the most fun activity that we did with them because it was a time when all the BMS were bonding with each other.”.
The BMS has had an amazing experience with the WKU big brothers. 8th grader Anthony Davis said, “The experience with them from 6th grade until now is a lot better.” Anthony said, “The experience with the big brothers is a lot better now because in the 8th grade BMS group, everyone is a lot more mature, and I know them better.”
Fun activity The BMS does many fun activities with the WKU Big Brothers when they meet. 8th grader Aiden Ellis Griffeth said, “I enjoy good debates because it’s a time for not only me but for every Black Male Scholar to learn more and grow.”
