Did you know the Air Jordans were the first luxury basketball shoes?  The most recent basketball shoes are the Jordan 36 Mustangs by NBA star Jayson Tatum. Released on September 9, 2022, NBA players such as Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, Devonte Graham, Thomas Bryant, Kai Jones, and Dana Evans have been seen wearing Jordan 36s. The Jordan 36 ‘Mustang’ has encouraged other players to buy Jordan 36’s. Not only can players play in them, but you can too.

8th grader Delsyn Hill shared his thoughts on the new Jordans. Hill said, “I personally don’t like them and wouldn’t recommend anybody to get them, and the color scheme is weird.” He also shared that the price was way too high for what you’re buying, and the shoes did not look the best in their colorways. 

8th grader Anthony Davis also shared his thoughts on the shoes. Davis said, “I would play basketball in them, but I wouldn’t wear them when playing outside or anything other than basketball.” Considering these are basketball shoes, they are mostly for basketball, not everyday activities such as walking and running outside. Doing so can cause the shoes to lose their traction, which is another thing to consider when purchasing them. This means the Jordan 36s probably aren´t the best for styling, but for playing basketball, which also explains why so many basketball players play in them.

Though Jordans were the first luxury basketball shoes, that doesn’t mean people still consider them the top-of-the-line shoes they once were. We found that many students wouldn’t recommend getting the new shoes that are coming out; however, we would recommend other shoes, such as the Vapor Maxes, Jordan 6´s, and New Balances. These recommended shoes are currently trending and are all good for different things: New Balances are great for traveling and styling, Vapor Maxes are all-around shoes, and Jordan 6s are good for special occasions.
